If I might presume to change one word? Instead of 'But Siberia in chains for Gay Pride', try 'To Siberia in chains for Gay Pride'. There is no 'but' in the original, there is the notion of being sent to Siberia, rather than the initially puzzling notion of Siberia being in chains to Gay Pride.
