brasília is the ruins
of machu picchu inside out,
cuzco rebuilt, tiwanaku unfinished,
teotihuacan pyramid back to front,
palace of the high plains, atlantis of the cerrado,
lost city of the workers who built it

the sphinx stares in her mirror: kubitschek

the lines of the monumental axis
are a continuation
of the nazca lines

that night suzana
was more avenued than ever
all axial
dressed up to the express lines

suzana
go be a super block like that
in my bed

                    *

our lady of the cerrado,
protector of the pedestrians
who cross the ten-lane expressway
at six in the evening,
please deliver me
safe and sound to noelia’s door

L2 avenue isn’t enough
W3 avenue is too much
when i’m really down
i take the circular bus
and go for a ride
hand in hand
with the seat
