Open Peach

By Horacio Cavallo

Horacio Cavallo is one of Uruguay’s leading contemporary voices. A poet of city life as well as of memory and melancholy, he is an urban poet in the tradition of Líber Falco and other Montevidean writers, but his voice is more self-assured and assertive than that of the gentle baker-poet Falco. Cavallo has a keen eye for detail and an uncanny ability to inhabit a child’s mind – most often, that of the child he once was.
