Zakariya Amataya


Zakariya Amataya won South East Asia ’s coveted Write Award in 2010 for his first collection, the first time it has been awarded to a predominantly free-verse poem. He was also the first Muslim poet to win the award in Buddhist-dominated Thailand and the first poet in the 32-year history of the award to be selected unanimously by the jury.
