Sarah Kirsch


Sarah Kirsch was born in 1935 in Limlingerode in Southern Saxony. One of Germany ’s leading contemporary poets, she received numerous awards, including the Petrarch Prize (1976), the (West) German Critics ’ Prize (1981), and the Georg Büchner Prize (1996). Sarah Kirsch died in May 2013.
