NAKA TARŌ is a Japanese poet and winner of the Saisei Murō and Yomiuri poetry prizes. His experiences of the Second World War feature prominently in his début collection Etudes (1950). In addition to his poetry, he has written a Nō play, Shikōtei (‘Shi Huangdi’, 2003), and is also known for his critical work on the poet Hagiwara Sakutarō.
