Jonathan Dunne translates from the Bulgarian, Catalan, Galician and Spanish languages, work by authors such as Tsvetanka Elenkova, Manuel Rivas and Enrique Vila-Matas. His translations have been nominated for major prizes, including the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize and the Warwick Prize for Writing. In 2010 he edited the first historical anthology of Galician literature covering the period 1196-1981 and a supplement of contemporary Galician poets for Poetry Review. 

He has written a poetry collection, Even Though That (2004), and a study of English word connections, The DNA of the English Language (2007); forewords for a book of Bulgarian poetry and of Mexican short stories; and taken photographs for the covers of various publications. He directs the publishing house Small Stations Press.
