Jerzy Harasymowicz

Jerzy Harasymowicz (1933 – 1999) was one of the leading poets of twenetieth-century Poland. His first volume Wonders was published in 1956. He made his debut with four other poets, Miron Białoszewski, Stanisław Czycz, Bohdan Drozdowski and Zbigniew Herbert. The arrival of this group was a milestone in twentieth-century Polish literature since it signalled a clear departure from the social-realist poetry of the day.
