Elżbieta Wójcik-Leese translates contemporary Polish poetry into English. Her translations of such poets as Marzanna Kielar, Krystyna Miłobędzka, Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało, Julia Fiedorczuk, Julia Szychowiak, Jerzy Jarniewicz, Marcin Świetlicki, Wojciech Bonowicz and Maciej Woźniak have appeared in many journals as well as in various anthologies (most recently New European Poets and Six Polish Poets). 

She co-edited Carnivorous Boy Carnivorous Bird: Poetry from Poland. A bilingual edition (2004), which presents twenty-four Polish poets born between 1958 and 1969. Salt Monody is her selection from Marzanna Kielar (see MPT 3/2). 

She is a contributing editor to Poetry Wales and co-edits Przekładaniec. 

She lives in Copenhagen. She participates in the creative writing and translation project ‘Metropoetica. Poetry and Urban Space: Women Writing Cities,’ which involves Wales, Poland, Slovenia, Latvia, Finland and Iceland.

She also translates Polish children’s books and English-language poetry. The London Underground featured her translations in summer 2011.
