Ciarán Carson


Ciarán Carson was born in Belfast in 1948, and raised in an Irish-speaking family. He won the T. S. Eliot prize for First Language in 1993. His translations from the Irish include The Midnight Court by Brian Merriman and The Táin, from the early Irish epic Táin Bó Cuailnge. His Collected Poems were published in Ireland in 2008.
