Bert Papenfuss


Bert Papenfuss was born in 1956 in Reuterstadt Stavenhagen, GDR. After working as an electrician and lighting technician he became a freelance writer in 1980. One of the leading writers of the avant-garde underground culture in the former East Germany,  he has published over 20 collections of poetry, most recently (2005) Rumbalotte. Gedichte 1998-2002. Since 1999 he has been co-director of the bar and club, Kaffee Burger, a  popular alternative music and literature venue in Berlin.
