Bakhyt Kenjeev


BAKHYT KENJEEV was born in Chimkent, Kazakhstan in 1950. His youth was spent in Moscow, and he began writing poetry in Russian at 18. His first collection of poems lay buried in the archives of Kazakhstan Writer’s Union for 20 years. It was finally published in his country of birth in 1996. Kenjeev is now a citizen of Canada who lives in New York.
