Ami (阿米, 1980—) is a Taiwanese poet and painter. Her first volume To Sing, To Dance, To Be A Wolf was nominated for the prestigious Taiwan Literature Award in 2011. In the same year, her first exhibition of paintings opened. Ami’s first full-length novel The Light in the Attic was published in 2012. By turns poetic, chaotic and disordered, it reflects her own schizophrenic episodes and struggle with depression.

Ami’s poems are notable for their accessibility and strong images: ‘I use simple words to describe a complex life, to sing of love and pain.’ She has been a regular contributor to Taiwan’s Off the Roll: Poetry+ since 2009.
