Albert Ostermaier

Poet

Albert Ostermaier was born in Munich in 1967. He has published five collections of poetry, most recently, Polar (2006). Alongside poetry he is also the author of prose works and libretti and often works with the composer Bret Wrede. He is also a noted dramatist and was the dramatist in residence at the Bavarian State Theatre during the 1999-2000 season. In July 2006 he was artistic director of the five-day long poetry festival abc Brecht: Brecht Augsburg Connected in Augsburg, the city of Brecht’s birth.
