Abdulqadir Hersi


Abdulqadir Hersi Siyaad, Yam Yam (1946–2005) was a Somali poet who dedicated his poetic talent to issues concerning peace and unity in Somalia. Among many works, he also co-authored the play Dabkuu Shiday Darwiishkii, 1974 (The Fire Ignited By The Dervish Movement) with Ahmed F. Ali ‘Idaajaaa’ about the longest anti-colonial war movement in Somali history.
